For the 2011-2012 school year, we will be offering the following programs:

1. The 5 day program: Monday through Friday from 8:00-12:00.
2. The full day program: Monday through Thursday from 8:00-2:30 and Friday 8:00-1:30.
3. Lunch Bunch will be offered for the 5 day program. Lunch Bunch is an optional pay-per-use program offered to children enrolled in the MPS Pre-class. Children can bring their lunch from home and enjoy eating and playing with their friends. Lunch Bunch will be offered Monday through Thursday from 12:00-1:00 for $6.00, and Friday from 12:00-1:30 for $9:00.

We believe that a high quality Pre-Kindergarten program not only prepares a child for kindergarten, but the language, literacy, and math skills acquired during these early years are strong predictors of a child’s later success in school.

We recognize and respect the family and home as the primary place for each child’s learning. We strive to build relationships with parents and promote family participation in the classroom.

Our curriculum reflects our Catholic beliefs. Foremost, we foster a sense of community. We worship and pray together. We celebrate and learn about major Catholic holidays and traditions.

We offer activities and instruction which address the Social-Emotional, Language and Literacy, and Mathematics domains found in the California Preschool Learning Foundations.

Our curriculum includes:

1. Both child-directed and teacher-directed activities
2. Small group, whole group, and individual instruction
3. Handwriting Without Tears for pre-writing skills
4. Alpha-friends and daily journal writing for writing development
5. Every Day in Pre-K Math
6. Computer Technology
7. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for religious formation
