Mission Basilica School Students Sing for the Pope

Eleven members of the Mission Basilica School choir had the honor of singing for Pope Francis in Rome during Christmas break: Madeline Baje, Holly Barragan, McKenna Bradley, Lauren Cole, Emelin Conboy , Serena Curran, Savannah Jimenez, Megan Kelley, Patrick McClemmy, Olivia Mumby, and Emily Mumby.
As members of the XL Pueri Cantores Congress, members of both the Mission Basilica parish and school choirs joined St. Edwards choir for beautiful performances at both the Mass of the Nations and the World Peace Day Papal Mass. Some students even got to meet Pope Francis!
While in Rome, the students got to tour historical landmarks and museums such as the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, San Pietro in Vincoli; Basilica di San Pietro; Basilica di Santa Maria ad Martyres (Pantheon); Scala Santa; Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano; Sant Eustachio; San Luigi dei Francesi and the Vatican Museum. One student said, “It was a life changing experience.These students will be honored at our Morning Assembly on Monday, January 11, 2016.

United Nations Day 2015

Mission Basilica School celebrated United Nations Day, an over 40 year tradition, on Friday, October 30th, 2015. This event includes mass, lunch, and a special performance by students in grades Pre-K - 8.
