Reverend Sergio Ramos - Parochial Vicar

Father Sergio Ramos comes to Mission Basilica parish from La Purisima Catholic Church in Orange.  You may know him from his time at Our Lady of Fatima Church in San Clemente.  He is 52 years old and has been in the priesthood for twenty years.  His hometown is Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico.  He loves to swim and his first job was being a milkman.  He says that his most memorable experience was his ordination as a priest by Blessed John Paul II at Saint Peter's Basilica in 1999.

His favorite scripture is from Isaiah 55:10-11 - "For just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down And do not return there till they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful, Giving seed to him who sows and bread to him who eats, So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it."
