Student Council

MBS Student Council is an excellent opportunity for students to display good leadership and stewardship.  Qualified students in grades six through eight are able to participate. These dedicated 6th through 8th graders are elected into the Executive Board positions after a rigorous campaign process that includes submitting a petition for their office, creating unique campaign posters, delivering a speech to the entire student body and winning the popular vote by their peers from grades 4th through 8th grades.  Sixth, seventh and eighth graders who would like to be members of the Student Council but not run for a particular office play an important role as Members at Large.  Student Council members are required to maintain stellar conduct and high academic grades as well as be strong role models for the entire school community.

These energetic students are responsible for such projects as:

  • School Spirit Dress-Up days
  • New Student Luncheon
  • Charity fundraisers
  • Color Guard
  • Red Ribbon Week
  • Serra’s Pantry food drive
  • Welcome Banners for visiting guests
